Compulab introduces IOT-LINK – a miniature, cost effective industrial IoT gateway
6-May-2025 – Compulab introduces IOT-LINK – a low cost, industrial IoT gateway, offering rich connectivity and versatile functionality in a miniature, rugged housing. Built around the NXP i.MX93 System-on-Chip, IOT-LINK provides an array of features required in typical IoT control and monitoring applications:
- Worldwide LTE/4G modem
- Gbit Ethernet and WiFi 6
- 2x RS485 / CAN-FD , 3x DI / DO
- Bluetooth mesh, Thread and Zigbee
- Secure boot, TPM and Hardware Watchdog
Designed for Industrial IoT
Leveraging Compulab’s long-term experience with the industrial IoT market, IOT-LINK design addresses the challenges of IoT deployment in industrial settings:
- High reliability and 24/7 operation
- Wide temperature range of -40C to 80C
- 5 year warranty and 15 year availability
- Customer O/S and application imaging service
- ODM rebranding with custom logo and labeling
- Support for DIN-rail and wall mounting
Rich set of interfaces, industrial grade quality, advanced security features and long-term availability make IOT-LINK an excellent solution for a wide range of IoT applications such as HVAC monitoring, industrial predictive maintenance, energy storage, EV charging, vehicle telematics and fleet management and lighting control.
IOT-LINK Software Support
Compulab supports IOT-LINK with ready-to-run Debian 12 Linux with built-in Docker support and easy-to-use deployment tools, allowing customers to focus on application development.
Customers who prefer to configure a custom O/S image can use the IOT-LINK Yocto BSP which includes Linux kernel 6.6, Yocto Project 5.0 and U-Boot boot-loader. OTA updates are supported using a pre-configured Mender layer.
In addition, IOT-LINK also supports BalenaOS thanks to continuous cooperation between Compulab and Balena.
Also available as SBC and SOM
For projects that require custom housing with simple integration, IOT-LINK is also offered without the enclosure – as SBC-IOT-LINK Single Board Computer.
Customers that require a fully customized form-factor or functionality can leverage IOT-LINK for development and quick proof-of-concept and then make a seamless transition to a fully custom design using Compulab’s MCM-iMX93 System-on-Module, while benefiting from proven hardware and existing software stack.
